How do I get my listing on the billboard?
The billboard is a separate paid leaderboard ranked by founder contributions, not votes.
Updated
The billboard is a leaderboard of its own at /leaderboards/billboard. It ranks listings by the money you've contributed, and it's clearly labelled as a paid ranking—so everyone knows exactly what they're looking at.
Contributing your way up
You choose how much to contribute in US dollars, with a minimum of $5. Each time you add to your listing's total, it stacks on top of what's already there. That means contributions build over time, and the board orders listings by their total amount. Once you've contributed, you stay on the board.
How to add a contribution
Adding it from your account needs a live listing. Then sign in and head to /account/listings, find your listing and select "Upgrades and extras". You'll see Billboard there—just enter your contribution. You can also add it when you're going through the plan step during submission.
Why it's separate
The billboard never buys you a vote and never touches any other ranking. Community votes, Launch of the Week, verification, Domain Rating and the billboard are all separate systems—each one is labelled so the community knows what's what. Promo codes don't reduce what you contribute to the billboard either.
Your link on the board
Every name on /leaderboards/billboard is a followed link (no nofollow) to the company's own website. Once you have contributed, the link stays for life, however the ranking changes. It goes only if the listing is taken down for breaking the rules, or if the contribution is refunded.
Questions people ask
- Does contributing to the billboard affect my votes or ranking anywhere else?
- No. The billboard is a separate leaderboard. Your votes and other rankings stay exactly as they are, and the community always knows which ranking is which.
- Can I add more to my billboard contribution later?
- Yes. Sign in, go to /account/listings, choose "Upgrades and extras" next to your listing, and add more under Billboard. Your new contribution adds to your total.
- What's the minimum I need to contribute?
- The minimum contribution is $5 in US dollars.
- Does my billboard contribution include a link to my site?
- Yes. You get a followed link to your website for life; it comes off only after a take-down for breaking the rules, or if the contribution is refunded.
