Launch playbook: getting the most from launch week on BizHub Launch

Most of a good launch happens around the listing itself. Here is what to do, stage by stage, with BizHub Launch.

In the days before launch

  1. Fill in the details

Check every field: name, tagline, description, features, FAQs and links. A complete founder profile with a photo and a short bio makes the page feel real. Your founder profile

  2. Ready your logo and images

Make the images match the product people will get. Up-to-date screenshots and a tidy logo set the tone, and a short demo video helps too.

  3. Plan around your diary

Launch when you have time to take part. A week with a free diary lets you reply quickly and share updates as they happen. See the launch calendar

  4. Let people know early

Draft your launch post and a short email before the day. Let the people who already know the product hear about it first.

The first day

  1. Use your mailing list

Email the people who use your product and tell them where to find the launch. New sign-ups can see it in your welcome email.

  2. Announce it

Share the link on the networks you use, such as X, LinkedIn and Bluesky. Pin the post and add the link to your profile bio.

  3. Talk to people

Replies show there is a real person behind the product. Answer comments and questions quickly and kindly. Your listings

  4. Share in the right places

Post in communities you already take part in, as yourself and within their rules. On Hacker News, Show HN is for something people can try right away.

Votes come from people, one each. They can never be bought, so never use extra accounts or vote swaps to add to them.

Launch week

  1. Plan your next listings

Add your product to other launch directories that fit it. Write each listing properly instead of pasting the same text. Launch directories worth a look

  2. Give people a second chance to see it

Share a second LinkedIn post during the week built around something new: feedback, a change or a number from your own analytics.

  3. Put the launch badge on your website

Add the badge to your site: it shows where you launched and links to your listing page.

  4. Polish the details

Turn feedback into small edits: a clearer tagline, a new FAQ, a better screenshot. Each one helps the next visitor. Edit your listing

After the launch

  1. Keep the details fresh

Come back to the page when something changes: new pricing, new features or new screenshots.

  2. See what worked

Look at your analytics after the week: which links brought people, and what they did next. Tagged links make this much clearer. See the launch receipts

  3. Come back with something new

Each new version is a chance to launch again. Save your relaunch for an update people will notice. Relaunch from your account

Questions

When do I announce my launch?
On launch day, as soon as the listing is live, and once more later in the week with an update or a lesson learnt.
Should I launch in more than one directory?
Pick directories that match what you have built, compare their price and link type, and give each listing its own description.
Should I ask people for votes?
Yes, ask the people who know your product. They each have one vote; votes can never be bought and extra accounts are not allowed.
What comes after launch week?
Measure where sign-ups came from, keep the page current, and plan a relaunch around your next big update.
